Most Copper Production
Most Copper Production: the dated top ten, the source and what this mine production in tonnes of contained copper comparison tells us.
In this 2024 source snapshot, Chile has the highest reported value among eligible entries: 5,300,000.00. Congo (Kinshasa) follows at 3,300,000.00. The unit is mine production in tonnes of contained copper.
About the data
Snapshot retrieved 14 October 2026. 14 eligible observations. Countries individually listed by USGS; the source groups smaller producers under Other countries. Missing observations are excluded, not treated as zero. Rankings use unrounded values; displayed values are rounded to two decimals.

What the numbers mean
Mine production measures copper recovered from ore, not the output of refineries that can process imported feedstock. The source also publishes reserves, which are a stock rather than a year's flow. We use only the mine-production column, converting the reported thousands of tonnes into tonnes. Figures for 2024 are estimates.
Where the top ten ends
The tenth entry is Mexico at 700,000.00. This is a cutoff within the published comparison, not evidence that countries outside the table have no production. The date and coverage are part of the answer: updating the source or changing the eligible territories can change who appears.
