Most UNESCO Sites
Understand most unesco sites: what the measure counts, how to read it and where to check the source.
A World Heritage ranking measures recognition as well as heritage. A site must be nominated and assessed before it can enter the list, so the total also reflects the history of nominations. One entry can encompass several buildings or landscapes. Counting entries is therefore quite different from counting monuments, and a shared site can contribute to more than one country's total.
