Understand most tourists: what the measure counts, how to read it and where to check the source.
Tourism arrivals count trips, not unique people. Someone visiting twice can appear twice, while a short border crossing and a long holiday can both qualify under a source's rules. Arrivals say little about how much visitors spend or how long they stay. Regional lists also need a fixed boundary, especially for countries spanning more than one continent.
