Most Islands
Understand most islands: what the measure counts, how to read it and where to check the source.
An island count needs a minimum size and a rule for rocks, tidal features and inland islands. More detailed mapping can increase the count without any new land appearing. Counts published by different national agencies may use different thresholds, so a dramatic ranking can partly be a comparison of surveying conventions.
