Countries with Most Volcanoes

Understand countries with most volcanoes: what the measure counts, how to read it and where to check the source.

The number of volcanoes depends on what counts as a volcano and how activity is defined. A volcanic field can contain many vents, and submarine volcanoes create additional mapping challenges. A list of volcanoes active during the Holocene is not the same as a count of current eruptions. Overseas territories and border locations also need consistent treatment.
