Biggest Land Size
Understand biggest land size: what the measure counts, how to read it and where to check the source.
Area sounds straightforward until water and territories enter the comparison. Land area excludes inland water, while total surface area usually includes it. Overseas possessions and disputed boundaries can be treated differently by sources. A ranking should use one definition throughout rather than selecting whichever figure is most familiar for each country.
